A comment in heterofaschist references gay-- "1. It's spelled "Fascist", not "faschist". If you're going to insult, please do it right, otherwise you come off as sounding really uneducated.2. You get those exact same rights and benefits with civil unions. I'm all for civil unions: the right to file taxes together, get health benefits together, visit each other in the hospital, etc. However, marriage is a word used for religious purposes, and a lot of religions don't promote the homosexual lifestyle. Plus, we've seen churches and businesses be discriminated against in other states and countries that have gay "marriage", when those churches and businesses don't believe in promoting the homosexual lifestyle because of their religion.
